Gannett Peak WY
I've been invited to join some of my old peak bagging friends in Wyoming this summer to climb Gannett Peak. Did not see any triplogs around HAZ, so wondering if anyone here has done it.

I climbed Gannett back in 2009 - it's definitely a lot of work, but the scenery is incredible. The Wind River Mountains are the most scenic mountains I've ever seen, IMO. Here is the triplog. Good luck if you go and have fun!

Haven't done it, but it's consistently described as top five in terms of difficulty for the 50 state high points, axe/crampons/rope use likely. Looks like major fun, and if your friends are handling all the organizing and logistics, I'd jump on it.

Re: Gannett Peak WY
I used to live in Idaho, so my friend is pretty good about handling logistics for anything in the region. He even has extra axes & crampons I can borrow. Now I just need to start saving money, train for the high country and get time off from work.toddak wrote:Haven't done it, but it's consistently described as top five in terms of difficulty for the 50 state high points, axe/crampons/rope use likely. That TL was both inspiring and slightly depressing. My heart wants to do things like that, my mind says no, LOL.
Awesome TL, though.

If someone told me 10 years ago I'd be doing the stuff I'm doing I'd think that they were crazy. Don't sell yourself short Jason.Jason Cleghorn wrote:That TL was both inspiring and slightly depressing. My heart wants to do things like that, my mind says no, LOL.
