"An area near scenic Aravaipa Canyon could become a training and testing hub for the firearms, emergency response, defense and aerospace industries." [ read more ]
Cross F Ranch looks to be at the eastern end of the canyon.

@blisterfreeHow much $ do all of them put together bring to the table versus what the new owner proposes? That's the sad reality.

It's not about putting our money where our mouth is, but rather putting our mouths where their money is. That, and the courts, which is where this is surely headed if the company continues to obfuscate about their true intentions.
Best guess is it'll be a tough row to hoe for the company if this is primarily intended for activities that would otherwise require getting on a military base waiting list. And what appetite really exists for the other softcore stuff, considering the driving distances and snowbird-season-only usability of the torrid terrain.

@Tough_Boots They probably couldn't get enough customer interest to make it pay.

Scroo the owners of Cross F for even entertaining this monstrosity.
This didn't happen in part because the press did its job. Also, next time in Klondyke, don't forget to hug a local.
What was all that about forgone conclusions again? The agony of defeatism.

@RedRoxx44
The problem with selling cattle ranches these days is that the market price for a ranch is too high for it to continue to be a real ranching business. I personally would rather see actual traditional working ranches than golf course developments, tactical weapons training facilities, housing subdivisions, movie star second homes, etc. I am glad Nature Conservancy and other entities sometimes buy up ranches that are on the market.

Hike where you want - is not as if there are folks out there to dissuade you........... this is all superfluous gub'ment rhetoric....
