Sunrise

Post by Nighthiker »

Went on a night hike and took a nap, woke up just at first light and noted a coyote laying nearby. We watched the sunrise together. I got up stretched and donned my pack. The coyote got up, yawned and ambled off, I returned to the trail and home.

That's great Nighthiker, how awesome.

I got talked into going out late Saturday night to walk over to the nearby Bashas parking lot with my teenage son, so that he could show me his latest stunts on his skateboard. Walking through our neighborhood, we came to a sudden stop at the sight of a coyote crossing the street right in front of us. When he passed, I started to continue on ahead, when my son stopped me and told me to wait a second, "why" I said, "because coyotes usually travel in packs," said my son. Well sure enough, here came two other coyotes walking through the neighborhood, as if they owned it. I suppose they really do own it, we are close enough to the hills that it should be no surprise to see coyotes roaming around the neighborhoods at night.

That is pretty neat Billy. The only coyote I seen recently was early Friday evening near Walnut Creek. He was moving fast to get away from me.
