@ALMAL
Allergery season is off to a strong start up here as well. Along with the netipot (sinus rinse) I use the homeopathic 'Rim Country Tree Mix' tincture and the 'Mountain Air' essential oil blend from Herb Stop in Pine. The tincture is for tree pollen allergies including Cedar and Juniper. They also have a 'Desert Plants Mix' tincture. Maybe something to check out next time you're in the area.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress.

I had them pretty bad starting in February last year at Organ Pipe, but really bad at the end of March through basically until I put the A/C on in May, and then when outside at times in June. July was when it ended. I recall one severe episode in Ventana Canyon in early April. I hope this year is nothing like that. Rain, sure we need some more, Snow, absolutely, but I don't want the allergies that come along .

Forecast high of 91 got dropped back to 88, for my location today. I can live with 88.

It looked like we might sneak by without hitting el 90 today, but PHX managed to get there at 4:05pm.

The extended forecast is looking more and more as if PHX might make it through this entire El Niño February without a drop of rain.

FLG had 8" of snow on 2/1, so it can't be a precip-free month up there, but it's been dry since then, and the total for the winter will drop to below-normal in the next few days.

Despite the recent modest, "average", storm in CA that basically just gave AZ a spring wind event up north and some clouds around here, the Sierra Snowpack has fallen below normal. Not what I would have expected 2 months ago, for late February. Not an El Nino dud, as some call this, but the forecasts are not matching the actual winter. Global Warming? Well, that becomes politics.

At least they recognize it's becoming a joke, and they're playing along. Gotta give 'em credit for that, if nothing else.

There's a new model, and she's got some beautiful oh's. And also some 1's. Plus, she's super fast. At press time, questions about why she apparently can't speak Spanish had gone unanswered.
In the months ahead, the supercomputer will focus on severe weather, storm surge and river forecasting, just in time for spring's flood season and summer's hurricane season. Its speed helps it process the enormous amount of data streaming into its lines so it can provide "more timely, accurate, and reliable forecasts," NOAA head Kathryn Sullivan said.

The supercomputer showed its prowess last month, predicting an East Coast blizzard with great accuracy days before the storm, said Louis Uccellini, director of the National Weather Service.

That's only a glimpse of what's to come.

"We expect to see better forecasts for hurricanes, severe weather, floods and other extreme events this year," Uccellini said.

These two analyses use slightly different datasets, but essentially show the same pattern.
And one wonders why there are people who have doubts about climate change/global warming ](*,)

How much has it rained this year versus a normal year? Seems like a simple question. But no, apparently the amount of rain that has fallen, or perhaps what we consider to be normal — hasn't actually been determined, so there are different sets of data to look at and compare to — depending on which conclusion you want to promote.

Regardless of which one you choose (and there are probably others that weren't published :-k ) it looks like Arizona is going to be turning more yellow, brown, and red if we don't get some more storms soon! Or at least a different set of data to draw from! :-$

As of 10:00 pm, it was 64F in NJ, under a raging thunderstorm with statewide flood watches. Not quite typical February weather.

No locusts yet, but I expect frogs at any moment. (A couple more warm, rainy days might be enough to bring out the tree frogs).

At least so far as SE AZ is concerned, all the posted reporting stations are below normal for winter precip, not just for a strong El Nino. Clearly, the sky is falling. Well, not, actually.

@chumley Could it be I've missed more than a few posts due to the ignore list feature?

If reading all 4857 posts of a thread in advance of posting was a requirement, I daresay there would be far fewer members posting.

I don't know where to find the statistics for it, but I have a feeling the total number of members who have commented in this thread may be fewer than 10. :)

(I've contributed +/- 853 of the 4859 posts, or less than 20% of the total! :y: )
