Tanner-Escalante-New Hance backpack in March

Hello! I have 1 or 2 spots open on a permit to hike in the Big Ditch.

Thursday, March 17, will be a late afternoon drive up to the South Rim and likely camp at Mather.

Friday will be a hike down the Tanner to spend the first night on the Tanner beach area.

Second day we'll be crossing the Escalante and camping near the Papago Wall sometime that afternoon.

Sunday, we'll ascend the wall , descend the Slide , and hike up and out the New Hance Trail and head home .

Only really fit and experienced inquiries, please. This is an aggressive hike, with an aggressive itinerary.

We will hike down afternoon on 3/17/16 and camp somewhere in the middle of the trail ( Tanner).

I just called the BCO, the 17th is Full, so we remain 18-20th down inside.
