I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
I was expecting a few bucks, but was pleasantly surprised to see I had built up a $100 dividend! DADDY GOT NEW BOOTS! $125, deduct the 20% for one single item...made them $100, applied my dividend and viola...FREE BOOTS!

More than it should be, but I can blame Mrs. big_load for half of it.

$56, which, combined with the 20% off coupon, will buy me exactly half of a new pair of shoes.
Stop crying and just go do the hike.

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
Mine only $21 despite all the money I spent. But I buy a lot on clearance, which doesn't give you the dividend. I will wait for my birthday, March 23, and hope for an REI gift card from family, as they have done in the past.

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
I also have the card. I put virtually everything on it and although lower than previous years I'm embarrassed by the amount. I will just let them give me the cash in July. It doesn't pay to use the dividend because you don't earn anything on the dividend especially when you use the coupon. I unfortunately now have access to pro deals through my work on several outdoor companies so I plan to use the cash to upgrade some stuff at a significantly lower cost elsewhere.

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
Very true and before the member dividend authorizations were mailed out, I fell for REI's recent spend $100 at checkout & get a $20 discount card that must be applied between 3/10-3/17: I needed two cool new large Rubbermaid storage containers that REI stocks. I figured two of these (that I actually needed) + a minimal # of GU Energy Gel Packs would do the trick to reach the $100 amountMtnBart01 wrote:I will just let them give me the cash in July. I think you can order what you need online and use your coupon and select for free pickup at the store.

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
@Grasshopper
Last year I used my dividend to replace an ailing 18 year old snowboard. It went on sale through backcountry for significantly below price I was paying including my dividend. I ordered it and waited for the board to arrive at rei to return it. To my surprise they gave me my entire $300+ dividend to me. This surprised me. I then took the cash and applied it toward the cc I used to order it on backcountry. Just don't have any big purchases like that this year. So I'll wait for the cash.

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
I use my REI Mastercard for everything that I would normally write a check or use my debit card for. My rebate this year is... $282 and some odd cents.
Now, I can get an inflatable sleeping pad!

Every year I use my dividend towards new boots, whether I need them yet or not. My next pair, which hopefully I won't be using for another 6+ months, should be arriving in a few days.

@rcorfman
At my new job I'll have NRS pro deals pretty soon (after a specified length of employment, a month or so.) I don't think I'll get pro deals from REI, but I do buy a lot from NRS anyway. Also have found that other online dealers are good, such as Outdoor Play.MtnBart01 wrote: I unfortunately now have access to pro deals through my work on several outdoor companies so I plan to use the cash to upgrade some stuff at a significantly lower cost elsewhere.

Unfortunate because it occasionally entices you to buy things you want but don't necessarily need.

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
For everybody who doesn't save money up front by purchasing their gear at less expensive stores, the 2018 REI dividend is out, finally refunding your purchase price to something back near what it probably should have cost to begin with!
That REI credit card rebate actually results in some spendable money for me. Good thing it doesn't have a short window for use because I can't think of anything I need to buy.

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
Already submitted for payout on my dividend. My last dividend (well, except for purchases I made this year up until their recent strain of public idiocy.)
Probably gonna spend it on Camelbak stuff, or maybe some ammo =)

I dunno, man... that Good To-Go brand they started carrying is pretty darn good (a little pricey though).

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
New tent for me between my REI dividend (mostly from the credit card - I use it for groceries with double points until this month) and my 23% off from my AZT membership coupon, didn't have to spend a lot out of pocket. Made me very happy... plus, a new tent
