Height of Light?

Post by air »

Hello,
On my recent trek up to point 6237 via Ventana/Esperero traverse I saw broken pieces of wood and wires near the summit and thought it was some sort of assist but then HAZ member johnlp posted a photo from another photoset showing a 'Height of Light' structure from the 1940s.

I can't seem to find much info on them online and would like to know more about these.

Thank you
