ATA Trail Work Training Sessions

The ATA is collaborating with the American Conservation Experience (ACE) to offer a series of training sessions on trail construction, maintenance and monitoring. It's a great opportunity to learn more about what makes a great trail and how to keep it in top condition. The trainings are aimed and Arizona Trail Stewards, but are open to anyone who wants to learn more about the AZT and great trail design!

The trainings are given in 2-day sessions, each designed to benefit veteran trail dogs and first-timers alike. Topics include "Seeing the Trail", Trial Corridor and Maintenance, Stone Maintenance Structures and Re-route design and Trail Layout.

Up coming sessions are scheduled for September 19-20 in Flagstaff and October 17-18 in Patagonia. The cost for the sessions is $125 and includes professional instruction, a Trail Assessment Handbook and plenty of social time with other trail lovers.

I can testify that working with the folks at ACE will change the way you see trails, explain much of what you see in trail conditions and strengthen your interaction with the landscape. I cannot recommend these courses enough!

In regards to the training in Oracle State Park on the 16th of April...
What time does it start as I would like to attend but coming from Tempe.
What materials do I need to bring? I would like to ride my MC down but will drive if I need to bring equipment I cannot carry on the bike.
