Has anyone climbed the Weaver's Needle-looking spire

just ENE of Chileen's in Black Canyon City? It is super prominent and looks like it should have a name.

It's at coordinate 34.0936, -112.0979

I know what rock you're talking about. I've looked at it a lot. Ha. I've never been on it but I have been on that nipple looking hill about two miles to the west and a bit north. The one just south of the mesa with the Indian ruins on it. The geology just south of it is bizarre. The dirt seems to sift into the rocks and one gets the feeling the earth is going to drop out underneath. It's really eerie.

Next time you head up there let me know. I'm oddly fascinated with that general area. I tend to like areas that no one else likes very much, LOL.

I've been nearby - there are access issues... "No trespassing" etc.

I'm game to check it out as well. But Black Canyon City is not the area to test out the resident's tolerance for trespassing.

Get into geocaching and you'll have literally hundreds of reasons to visit BCC and its environs.

The one main big one there that you can see from the highway and Cold Water rd was named Squaw Peak... The restaurant there used to be the Squaw Peak Steakhouse. And was called Squaw Peak road... If it is the one that I think you are talking about...

I live near there, I'll try and get some good pictures of it. It looks like a mini-Weaver's Needle with a spire but with the flared sloping base, etc.

You could probably avoid the access issues by going all the way around and approaching it from the mesa above and to the northeast. Long trip, and you may get to the base and discover it's a technical rock climb. But on the satellite view it looks pretty moderate from that direction.
