Highline Trail

Post by Leva »

Obviously, this isn't open right now.

I'd like to do the Highline Trail in the spring, probably around early April, planning on a week or so to do it. Has anyone done the whole length of it? Any good books? Permanent water? And what's it like through the sections burned in the Dude Fire -- shade? Water availability? I've hiked portions of this trail around Horton, and that's it.

Anything I should know? And how tough a hike is this, really?

Not a tough hike, but water availability can be a problem. But it's not wilderness, you could cache water. We did it a few years ago, see below, nice time.
