A recent HAZ poll on hiker-medications indicated that 36 of 41 respondents take NSAIDs at least occasionally.
A study released in yesterday's theBMJ says that even short-term NSAID use may significantly increase the likelihood of heart attack. (theBMJ is formerly The British Medical Journal. The link above may require a subscription to view, however the journal is open-access so a PDF has been attached here.)
Lead researcher Michèle Bally, from the University of Montreal Hospital Research Center, said: “Our study supports recommendations to use the lowest effective NSAID dose for the shortest possible time.”

The last Month, I'm only Guilty of 7, 8, and 9... with 9 being a Requirement on my new Plan.... So far, I've lost all but 3 Pounds of all of the Weight I've put on this last Year with my Injury, but I'm done being Addicted to Carbs and Sugar. Time to get Serious about Sh.... if I want to get back into Canyons.... If I do well enough, I may even eventually give up the Tobacco, but I'll have to wear a Patch the Rest of my Life... Ibuprofen? Forget it, it's the only way I can keep doing this Stuff... The Knees were complaining just doing the Hidden Valley Loop a few days ago...
