Rose Canyon Campground temporarily closed

Tucson, AZ (June 11, 2017) - For Immediate Release. – The Coronado National Forest, Santa Catalina Ranger District, has temporarily closed Rose Canyon Campground until further notice due to wildlife activity in the area.
A black bear was active in the campground this morning and aggressively attempted to enter a trailer at 5:30 a.m. The bear was last seen moving toward the lake, a popular recreation area.
The campground will remain closed until further notice for public safety purposes. Developed camping opportunities can be found nearby at Spencer Canyon Campground. Dispersed camping areas (without developed facilities) can be found on Bigelow Road and Oracle Control Road...
