Hi folks,
I'm an out-of-practice backpacker, due to a long standing shoulder injury (torn rotator cuff issues). I'm looking for a backpacking buddy, preferably female (as I am, and I'm married to someone who likes to hike but backpacking not so much). It's best if someone backpacking with me is not the hurried type; I'm basically feeling out what I can do with 30 some odd lbs on my back again, after a somewhat successful go at physical therapy, and some gear rehab/lightweighting. I do tend by nature to be a 'stop and smell the flowers' sort of backpacker (and a bit of a backyard botanist). But I'm also getting old enough (I am 50) to be nervous about going out alone, which I used to do a lot! It'd be nice to have a companion. I have a capable 4wd to get to TH's and know how to drive it. PM me if interested - I'm based in Tucson. Thanks!

Here on HAZ we refer to that as "Tibber Mode" as long as you take along two or three memory cards for your camera.desertdryad wrote:I do tend by nature to be a 'stop and smell the flowers' sort of backpacker

I would probably be at your type of Speed, especially right now and I happen to be a Photography Addict. My biggest problem now, is that just about everywhere I'd want to go is Burning at the Moment, although there are still a few Areas that I would probably do... I won't be able to do anything until August however, my Calendar is packed until then....
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming, "Wow What a Ride!"

I'd say you probably hike a little too fast, so yes.te_wa wrote:guess i'm disqualified

Tibber mode? Odd term. I just call it slug mode, myself...
