Tourist hiker threatened by local in Nepal

This kind of thing seems inevitable as more and more people travel to specific places to go hiking.

For local communities, the influx of visitors is probably a good thing ... economic benefits of selling a room for the night, food, and/or guide services... until it becomes a bad thing with too many people, who some opine are less respectful or well-behaved than visitors from yesteryear (#broculture? )

Anyway, maybe don't try to haggle on the price of a $1.50 cup of tea in Nepal!

The tourists stopped for tea after hiking only 4.5 km of a 230 km trek. I'd be ticked at them too.
