Hey everyone, looking for some new trails to run, typically i run 4x a week depending on feel 7 to 10 miles , so far i run the perl charles loop trail and parts of trail 100 starting on the trail head south of thunderbird rd on 7th st, the trail opposite of shawbutte trail passing the tunnel and Hilton hotel.
I know there is south mountain and mcdowell preserves up north but most of those trail are more to hike than run as most of the trail have long elevations which will result in me walking more than i would like, looking for some local trail that have average elevation and not at long distances as when running i like to be steady . thanks.

@sajor75
You should check out some of the hikes @widowmaker was looking for recently. I don't think he runs them, but the criteria seem to be similar.

I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

Re: Trails to run around Phoenix
A really good place to go for running I am going with the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Trails.
I will suggest start at Browns Ranch Trailhead. At this trailhead there is water and maps with plenty of parking.
The trails are great for running and you can get in a lot of miles out there.

South Mountain, particularly from 48th Street entrance, but throughout, including desert classic and national trails.
Phoenix Mountain Preserve (you already mentioned Trailed 100, but the entire basin from 40th street is fantastic)
McDowell Sonoran preserve - some of it is steep but all of it is good.
McDowell Mountain Regional Park (Pemberton Loop)
also stop in to iRun in Arcadia. Bunch of committed trail runners there will have ideas.

Re: Trails to run around Phoenix
I do a fair amount of running. Lots of loop variations of Trail 100, typically starting at the 7th Avenue trailhead and from the visitors center. Trained for a few running races on those trails. Up north the BCT can't be beat for running, the access point in Black Canyon City is my favorite.
At SoMo I like the Mormon Loop, it's a stiff climb to start but you can run 80% of the loop.
Out west a great loop is the Ford Canyon/Mesquite loop in the White Tanks.
Just check out my triplogs for more details.
