Arcadia trail/ Heliograph/ Pinalenos?

Post by Jim »

Is anyone planning to hike the Arcadia Trail in the next few weeks, possibly to Heliograph Peak, or maybe just visit nearby in the Pinalenos? If you do, can you comment on the current conditions or post some photos? Thanks.

I was there April 15. The trail to Heliograph Peak looks in rough shape. It's doable, but kind of overgrown. Arcadia is better, but footing is kind of loose from the recent fire. Some treefall on the upper end past the junction with Heliograph Peak.

and on the lower end of the Arcadia about a quarter mile in, watch out for where the trail dangerously disappears where it should cross the creek.

@Jim_H
Heliograph Peak looked pretty overgrown to me. Might be easier to take the road then push your way through on the downhill making a loop out of it.
Tortoise Hiking. Stop and smell the Petrichor.

Thanks guys. I did see and comment on both of your photos sets, and would like to know how it is has changed this spring with new growth. I don't remember Heliograph being overgrown, though. It had a lot of new aspen on it 3 years ago, but I think it was easy to access. I'm hoping someone might be planning on it the way people were planning on Baldy.
