Let's ask another Scout Question. Is there anyone on this site that has been to Philmont

: ? My son and I are going in July of 2004. I would like to ask a few questions.

I went to Philmont with my family when I was just a little guy. So I don't think I will be much help, however I know several people that have been recently and I might be able to find out some information if you can't get any first hand stuff.

Ask away dude. I went there as a scout twice (once at 14 once at 17) then I was a Ranger there one summer when I was 18. Best summer of my life. I will answer as many questions as you care to ask. Feel free to PM me with them.

I used to live in Eagle Nest, for many years, Philmont is about 25 miles or so from there, I spent many days wandering the area. Ask your questions, you will probably get more information than you want or need from all sorts of sources. :roll:

I went to Philmont when I was in scouts (wow, about 8 years ago I guess!) and I've gotta say it was one of the best times of my life. Probably the defining trip that got me hooked on backpacking. I've give a leg to have the opportunity go back ... well maybe not a leg but, you know!
