8th Annual New Year's Day Peak Bag

Post by outdoor_lover » Nov 19 2018 10:24 pm

And here we go again! It's been almost a Year already! I think it's Time for some Action in the Northwest Part of Town, it's been awhile! Not quite as Strenuous as last Year, but it will increase the Heart Rate for just a bit.... Probably a good one for me as I've not been quite as Active the last couple of Months.... I don't want to Drop Dead on anybody this Year.... :sweat:

I do try to pick Peaks that are in the Range of just about anyone and I keep them Short and Sweet in case anyone has later plans for that Day. It's a lot of Fun, and if you haven't done one of these Annual Bags yet, consider joining us for a Celebration on a High, Scenic Point. If you have done one or more of these in the Past, I would sure love to see you again! Let's Do It! Put it on your Calendar Folks and I'll Post any more needed Details later and we can also discuss Carpooling, if anyone would like to do that!

In the Meantime, have a Wonderful Holiday Season and I'll hopefully see you soon!

Isn't that funny! Last nite while I couldn't get to sleep I was trying to remember if we did one last year and then of course I remembered as I reinjured my knee but it was a great, but hard hike with a great group. So I was wondering if you were going to come up with something in light of what's been going on for you and also, since you haven't been visiting HAZ as much. I'll try to make it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.

@tibber
It would be great to see you again Angela and this Year won't be quite as Strenuous as last year. I hope the Knee is doing well now. Yeah, I have tons going on right now so I'm just not getting out there, but hopefully after the Holidays, I'll be able to get in some more Hiking and such. New Year's will be a great Start for sure, lol

Plan on hiking in Superstitions on Monday on the Peters Trail so since I am in the area this could be fun for a day after hike. What time do you start?

We will meet at the "TH" (see Directions under the Description) at 9:00 A.M. Try to leave a bit of extra Room in your Pack so you can help haul a few things to the Top... See some of you soon and hopefully some of you that are interested will go ahead and drop on over to our side of the Fence... If anyone is interested in Carpooling, please Post. Not entirely sure where I'm going to be coming from yet....

Hi. Where can I get details of meeting place - time etc... I’ve never joined in on one of your events, but would like to start. Sounds fun! Can I bring Fido?

@SibeMtnMomma
At the top, you will find the Baldy Mountain Link. Click on that and it will take you to the Description and you will also find directions there. We are meeting at 9:00 A.M. You can add yourself to one of the Columns above based on your Interest as well. It will help me with a head count since I bring goodies for this Event.

And I do not allow Dogs on this Event, I'm sorry.

I'm bringing some huckleberry taffy and I have extra cookies my cousin Connie baked. She went on a binge. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Looks like it could start out a little nippy.

Thank you ; ) . Sounds like fun, but with having huskies and it being not close to home, I will generally only participate in hiking events with dogs. Happy New Year!!! Maybe I'll catch another event. Have a blast.

It is going to be pretty chilly with some Wind also Forecasted. For those of you joining us for the first Time, it is advised that you take warm clothing for the Top with maybe a Windbreaker as well, as we will be up top for a bit.... It is a Tradition that the Party doesn't start until the last Person is up, so some of you speedier Hikers may be waiting at the Summit for awhile. Please take that into consideration and dress for it.... I have a pretty good feeling that I will most likely be the last one up this time around. :sweat: I look forward to seeing you all there!

Pam, per our discussion, I will be helping out at Wayne's house all day trying to get it ready for sale (Mia just wants to finally get it done) and brother Rick is coming over later to set up my amazon fire stick; whatever that is. Not sure if the fire stick comes with Fireball Whiskey but I got a whole new bottle of that over the holidays :D .

Just wish I could figure out how to get this bag of huckleberry taffy to you all as I saved it for this occasion. Anyway, have a great time; it looks like a great hike :) and I'll miss the cookies and champagne but mostly I'll miss all of you :( .

@tibber Hi Angela, I’m driving from Gilbert. If you’re anywhere close to my route, I can swing by and pick up the taffy. Send me a PM if that works.
