Post Your 2019 NOBO Start Dates
I like how the AT posts the registered start dates of thru hikers. That way you can join people, or you can avoid them. The information helps either way.
I am looking at a NOBO start during the week of March 4th. Not exactly sure of what day. I'll be flying into Tucson and shuttling from there. Looking to complete in 40-45 days.

Re: Post Your 2019 NOBO Start Dates
I'm planning on starting March 3, but may change it based on water and snow levels. I expect about complete it in about 45 days. I did the Grand Enchantment Trail last year and I can't get enough of the desert.

Re: Post Your 2019 NOBO Start Dates
I am flying in to Phoenix on March 3rd. @ 2:00 pm arrival. Looking to carpool to the trailhead.
So far, the best plan for me [alone] is to take the airport shuttle to the Tucson Airport, then Lyft from there.
The commercial shuttles are pricey--unless shared. Planning to throw my bag down on Arizona Soil before dark.

How are you getting to the trail head? I posted my itinerary on this feed - starting March 3 also. If it works out to carpool or shuttle together let me know! Edog

Re: Post Your 2019 NOBO Start Dates
I have committed to an April 1, 2019 start. It's been pushed back a couple times due to scheduling conflicts and logistics, but April 1 is solid.

@cfzko
I am also hitting it April 1st. Not sure if you're looking for solitude, but thought I'd reach out to double check your plans in the case you wanted to avoid humans, or lean on them. As for me, this is my first run/thru-hike of the AZT, attempting a "fund running" campaign for a nonprofit school. Feel free to reach out IG @runningforrunningriver

@PinkEye
Howdy!
Planning on doing mostly solo but open to being with people if it works out that way. Have a buddy that might do the first 100 miles with me. I'm coming from the east coast so first time attempting the AZT. I'm sure I'll se you out there! Are you self supported and what's your goal finish date?

@cfzko
I plan to finish in four weeks, running/thru-hiking a marathon a day. Again, it's for a fundraiser, so we'll see how it goes. It will be self-supported as well. I am very much looking forward to the challenge.

@ricw
Alright, sounds like most people are starting later, though some say they've already started. Yeah, self supported not counting resupply mailers. finish date? who knows with this weather, but it will be shortly after I get to Utah. I think the forest service does a shuttle, check with them to get to trailhead. Anyone I miss? apologies. See you out there!

Re: Post Your 2019 NOBO Start Dates
Two of us, starting from Montezuma Pass on sunday evening, Feb. 24.
right now the plan is to follow Montezuma Canyon Road from the pass to where the AZT crosses and pick up the AZT there. This will completely bypass Miller Peak Wilderness, and the snow. Does anyone really expect Bathtub Springs will be visible the next week or so? Only going to Oracle.
