Mormon Lake Resupply

Post by PeteOutdoors »

I have heard conflicting reports about how good resupplying at Mormon lake is. Some say it is not adequate, others says it is.

Should I mail a resupply box or resupply there?

What is your take on this?

I am starting my hike on March 23, going northbound.

Either Mike may know, or maybe send your items or shopping list to:

COMMENTS: I have a cabin in the Mormon Lake area and can assist in any way necessary. I have a home in Phoenix and can also assist in the Superior to Pine section. I have a 4-WD and can access nearly anywhere along the trail. Retired so can dedicate time, especially to through hikers.

I sent a resupply box there. It was unnecessary. Everything purchased in Pine would've easily lasted until Flagstaff. Keep in mind that's over 400 miles in, so you'll be in trail shape. That combined with flatter (not flat, just flatter compared to going up and down through the sky islands) walking and more daylight makes for some big mileage.

I also didn't bother with Mormon Lake. Resupplied in Pine and after that Flagstaff.
