Re: Hollingshead cave.
OK I'm beginning to think this is some ATV riding Geocache thing that is filled with empty Bud lite beer cans. Since it's next to a power line and they would have to walk 30 feet. I was hoping it was something real.

Re: Hollingshead cave.
To be a cave by my unscientific definition, it must be large enough to hide me from the rain. The "cave" in that picture looks more like a bathtub than a dry spot. On the other hand, the shadowed area could be an entrance to a larger void.

Dang! I wish I'd seen this thread last week... on Wednesday we were within 250 feet of it on our descent from the summit of Hollingshead.Majorgonads wrote:Holingshead cave is real it’s awesome actually amazing !
My 4Runner is 4WD with a 2" lift and it did fine, albeit with a pretty rough ride at very low speeds.athew wrote:Can you get there without 4WD?
As long as Forest Road 81A is DRY and you drive carefully I believe you could make it ok with a 2WD pickup or SUV with reasonably high clearance... as in slightly more than most stock SUV's.
