The American Prairie Reserve, do you know of it? If you do, do you support the endeavor, oppose, or have mixed or no opinion? Would you visit?
Montana is pretty far away. Angela makes her way there every summer. Scott likes the NW park. Mega fauna, anyone?
Not so much as a reserved for wildlife, but for grazing, would something similar work in areas of Texas in the panhandle where water is scarce and the Ogalla/ High Plains Aquifer depleted?

Re: American Prairie Reserve
@Jim_H
This is the first I've heard of this. I haven't heard any Montanans complain about it. Maybe I'll put it up on Facebook and see if I get any reaction. However, most of my Montana peeps are not from the area of this park. Even from Gt Falls it is a 4 hour drive and then they suggest using your odometer to confirm your mileage.
I read thru a lot of it but still don't fully understand. It seems they are trying to create a Prairie Park, a very large one (over 3 mil acres) but not necessarily easy to access or find unless you make an effort.
Of course, I have my own Prairie Park out at the ranches as do many other Montanans.
...well all I got was crickets from the Facebook post.

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.

Re: American Prairie Reserve
I think the intent is for it to be a National Park, eventually, if it isn't managed like a National Park but is privately held. It's an interesting idea at least.
Also, it would be a good name for a brand of steaks and chops. "American Prairie Reserve Beef!". Top quality prime and choice cuts, direct to your door!
