Snow hiking north of flagstaff

Post by BRichard »

Headed to flagstaff this weekend. I will be getting there early morning. Was hoping to get some good snowshoeing in. I know of the Nordic center but is there anywhere else, was considering the east end of kachina headed uphill but not sure if it’s accessible.....

Thoughts?

Check road status here:

I don’t think you can get to the east end of Kachina normally in wintertime by vehicle.

The west end is accessible from Snowbowl which is ok. This year is the first where it isn’t required to have a backcountry permit to hike from Snowbowl Road.
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.
