A new fire just started a while ago here in Cave Creek. This is within a mile of our home and growing quickly. The wind is pushing it in the direction of Spur Cross Ranch. Aaarrgghhh...

Wade, thanks for your concern. We are fine as the fire is just to our north. A change in wind direction could have been bad news for us however. Our internet has been out till just now (4 am Mon.) We were just awakened by a large explosion and fireball 1/4 mile north of our house...guessing a propane tank maybe. The night sky is orange again.

I did wonder if invasive species made up a lot of that brush I saw in the video. I googled Cave Creek weed control, and found that people have been encouraged to clear certain invasive weeds, including one I'd never heard of, called Globe Chamomile, or stinknet. https://ktar.com/story/2896789/cave-cre ... fire-risk/
