Hiking vehicles

What kind of vehicles do you guys all drive when your going hiking? Im thinking about investing in a 4wd high clearance Jeep or something of the sort so I could get to some places where I definitely couldnt get to with what Im driving now (73 mustang):) I saw a Jeep Grand Cherokee today for $2600 and I was thinking about checking it out. What "hiking vehicle" is easiest to drive and which gets the best gas mileage (even though I know most wouldnt be too fuel efficient.)

700hp more than my truck and it still won’t go where my truck will go or sleep 4 comfortably and probably gets worse gas mileage.

Knowing what the MSRP was on my truck, I thinking that this is probably very close to what I bought my house for in '98.

I am guessing $100k......... PLUS a stock truck.

Or... you could go whole hog with a Hennessey Chevy Silverado Goliath 6x6 for a base price of $375K:

However, that's just with the 700 HP motor... if you want the 808 HP stroker and a custom interior that's gonna be over $400K.

Funny I was just watching some of the videos on this. Be interesting to see how it holds up after some off road bashing. Like the badlands/ Sasquatch combo tho--lockers front and rear, 35 inch tires from factory and upgraded trans case etc. Sorta has an FJ cruiser look to it tho.

Boy howdy are they going for the Jeep market. There are times when I miss our 82 Bronco, but not as much as our mechanic.

Looks like they're going after Jeep and Toyota. Good for them, I hope they do well with it, they need a boost these days. True SUV's are becoming almost extinct as more and more of them have become crossovers.

Letty - Maybe the Bronco First Edition; it's pretty tricked out. Only 3500 will be built, and they're equipped with everything that comes standard on the top-of-the-line Badlands model, but like the Wildtrak model, it gets the badass Sasquatch package as standard. It also includes the Lux package, which adds features such as adaptive cruise control, a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, voice-activated touchscreen navigation, and a wireless charging pad. It's distinguished from the other Broncos by First Edition hood and side graphics, a black hard top, a safari bar, and a First Edition–specific leather interior.
The First Edition comes only in Rapid Red or Cyber Orange metallic, the dark-teal Area 51, or Cactus Gray.

Followed one of these home yesterday until they pulled into Clearwater Hills. Apparently we can add Napa/Sonoma to the Moab, Hammers, Baja off road list. I've gotten mine up to $86,725.00

I don't think they're going for the Jeep market, because Jeep went after the grocery getter market a long time ago.
The funny thing about the video is if you read the constant disclaimers on the bottom, it's almost as if this is still a dream on some designer's computer. Computer generated, simulated, etc.
In itself that's impressive though, because computer generated images are technically electrical, which is something I've learned that Ford has not previously excelled at!

HAHA, opening ad on one of the videos was for Jeep, driving around the backcountry, before they rolled tape on the Bronco. And not impressed with some of the driving esp in the rocks.

It's pretty tough for a thing that exists to not be better than a thing that doesn't!

That said, Toyota needs a little push from time to time. Neither Taco nor 4R have done much by way of innovation or updating anything in recent years.

Somewhere in the CGI YouTube thing, the narrator did clearly indicate that Bronco exceeded other domestic competitors for whatever topic it was discussing.
