Earthquake, maybe?Jim_H wrote:I have a location for my house bookmarked and it never changes.
It's 57F in my yard right now. There's a taste of fall in the air. It feels nice, but I'm already starting to miss the long days. It won't be long before I can't walk in sunlight after work.

That would be one hell of an earthquake to alter the GPSed location for my bookmark.

Re: Atmosphere Comparison
Tomorrow should be interesting we will see how it pans out. 20 degrees in Sept. that’s even a little early for me especially since I’m in the process of staining the house. Got to love 2020!

Re: Atmosphere Comparison
Does anyone know why it is so smoky in Flagstaff today? It seems to be that type of smoky haze which is coming from further away rather than very close by. I know I have fire and weather watching friends out there who know more than to just Google "Why is it so smoky in Flagstaff today?" Yes I tried that. It didn't work. Now I'm going back to what I really need to be doing. It actually is thick enough to feel it in my eyes and throat.

Just be happy you're not hiking in the Sierra. Did anybody read if it's gonna be a boy or a girl? I didn't finish reading it.

California wildfires would be the likely culprit.

Well I finally put on my little thinking cap and looked at a weather satellite map. There are two large wide plumes of smoke coming from California across and heading east. From that fire near Fresno, the one where they rescued all the people by helicopter at a lake, the smoke appeared to mostly be heading across Nevada. The smoke we are receiving in northern Arizona appears to be from Southern California, where there are quite a few fires going on right now. So I imagine it's from a combination of different fires in SoCal.

Re: Atmosphere Comparison
Actually you are both right but it is not the Forest Fires in California doing it.

Ultra Sound determined probably sex result reveals, not gender reveals. I don't care what they name them. Gender is the outward expression of sex, and the fetus's probable sex is all that is being revealed. Sorry, but I hate that name. The word, "gender", predates the madness surrounding it, too.

Honestly, when I first heard that term, the sex of a baby didn't even occur to me. I think the whole concept is ridiculous actually, especially during a Pandemic. Hey! Let's make sure the new Mom has to go through Covid 19 too!

Re: Atmosphere Comparison
Did some say smoke? Cameron Peak Fire is blowing right into the pass. Apparently it exploded the last couple days with 40000’ plumes. Waldo canyon is less than a mile away as the crow flies for perspective. At least it doesn’t smell like burning toxic plastic like 2 years ago.
