What good is a round-up without a stampede?“The closure is needed to protect the public and the contractor from the likelihood the cattle should stampede during the round-up operation,” said District Rangeland Management Specialist Kathleen Sevy. “Cattle from this area have been known to stampede and charge individuals and groups of boaters in the past.”

I saw something about the local McDonald's being involved with this on the RFD cable access channel.

Now that you mention it I didn't catch the part about charging boaters. Kind of like a bovinopotamus bloviating toward the African Queen. Youtubeable.

Re: What's Your Favorite Color
The video released Tuesday of a man getting tased by a park ranger now has context, because authorities have just released the full body cam video, and it's clear ... the park ranger was trying to deescalate the situation but the male hiker was uncooperative and defiant.

Re: What's Your Favorite Color
I was inundated with the other video yesterday on FB because of all my Native friends. It was good to see what led up to it and the person certainly had an attitude and the land is to be protected for all people. That being said, I'm still not comfortable with him being tased.

Additional help. He could go nowhere and if he parked there then wait for him. Sorry the guy was a jerk, but I don't think he should have been tased unless he showed physical actions against the ranger. If I was in that situation I would have tased the dog, which is why thankfully I never sought a career in law enforcement.

Tough situation; reminded me of the non compliant grandmother that was tased for refusing to sign a ticket. When I did a search for tased old lady , the first video was a women from Oklahoma, second grandma was from Texas. Go figure.

Re: What's Your Favorite Color
Video speaks for itself. He got what he deserved.
He isn't special. He isn't entitled to do something because he is, "Native". He is a coddled and spoiled child who believes that he doesn't have to behave or co-operate, not because something is unjust, but simply because he feels special. He gave the "Native and government have bad history" line, which I guess means he can do whatever he wants. Too bad they don't have a Native Officer there, because they can call out that BS a lot faster. This poor officer had to play nice.
Oh, and I guess this is one of those things I love about no longer being on FB or any of that worthless data harvesting tech. I was unaware. Blissfully so.

The TMZ video you linked must be either fake or altered. PBS and NBC both reported that the hiker was repeatedly tased for no other reason than briefly stepping off the trail. They had on air commentary calling for the immediate firing of the "obviously racist" ranger and that discussions need to be had about returning ownership and control of this site and others like it back to the natives.
