Ach! I missed my window to hike it this year. And last year it was pretty much closed the entire summer. There might have been a short time when it was open but I missed that too. When I used to live in Williams, a few times I saw how a huge thunderstorm could flood that town. If that watershed were to burn, up there on the mountainside, it would be pretty devastating for the town. So I know they really want to do this preventative work.
