Not sure if this belongs on a hiking website, since the "ramblers" at issue are described as individuals who "prefer to be able to walk in carpet slippers and dancing shoes rather than wear boots," but I thought this might be of interest to the HAZ crowd.
On the other hand, "RAZ" does have kind of ring to it ...

Re: Battle over Scottish Right-to-Roam Law
I now have a new addition for my bucket list ... to roam uninvited (but responsibly as per the law) into David and Jenny Kime's home and after making myself a sandwich from items in their fridge have a nice nap on their davenport.

Re: Battle over Scottish Right-to-Roam Law
I bet that's not what they're wearing in the photo. Trails in Scotland generally aren't too rocky, but there's plenty of mud and rough ground on the hill climbs. I expect this is getting a lot of attention, since hiking is not only important as local recreation in Scotland, but also as part of the tourist industry on which many rural areas increasingly rely.ddgrunning wrote: ↑Dec 27 2021 3:35 pm https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/202 ... ht-to-roam

@big_load
You're correct. In another photo you can clearly see he's wearing nice climbing boots to climb over the locked 7' gate. ;-)
