The Angels Landing trail at Zion National Park has been closed due to damage to the safety chains that help hikers ascend the sandstone mountain. National Park officials haven't revealed the extent of the damage, or what it believed to have caused it, but as KUTV(opens in new tab) reports, the narrow trail is closed until further notice.

The park trail crew is finishing work to reattach a rock anchor that supports the trail chain, assess the rest of the trail, clean graffiti, and remove trash.
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

I like Edward Abbey's characterization of NP's as "national parking lots"
Civilization is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there
