It's raining in Flagstaff. Probably snowing tonight. I caught some bits of rain in Scottsdale today, too.

Today seemed just misty and damp, then the thunder and dark low clouds came in. Getting quite nice rain right now.

I had quite a bit overnight in Tempe, but just some wind and clouds today.

Last night was heavy enough to wake me up a couple of times.

In northern Phoenix, I had nothing overnight but was decently heavy in the afternoon but then nothing today, when it was supposed to happen. Was hoping for a bit more today for sure

A late winter Nor'easter is headed our way tonight. We're near the 4"-8" snow zone, and it will be preceded by 1"-2" inches of rain, all in 12 hours. Going to work tomorrow will be more unpleasant than usual.

We got lucky - torrential downpours erased whatever snow we got. Since they alternated, it was hard to tell how much total snowfall there was. I hope the couple dry days over the weekend allowed rivers to drain off enough that this won't be a flooding event.

I saw the first dead snake of the year today.

I have to admit I've never heard anyone say that regarding the first sign of spring.

That's probably true. I consider it an extremely reliable indicator, though. I don't recall having any more winter weather after the first dead snake. According to the calendar, there's about another week when snow is possible, but it's too warm now.

I logged my first dead snake of the year in NJ today, a bit later than last year. That fits with our persistently under-average spring (and winter) temps this year. Although it looked a couple days flat, there were no signs of activity by vultures, crows, squirrels, or any other scavengers active in the area.

Now that was a little unexpected. Holy ! No power for 4 hours. forecast is for snow to continue until tomorrow.

@azbackpackr Finally got power back never got too cold because pipes from radiant heat were still warm. Have battery backup that can run Pellet stove plus Buddy heater. Never needed any of it power restored after 9 hours.

Hot; really nice clouds yesterday evening and a tiny chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Lots of clouds this early am. I hope monsoon comes a bit early this year.

A friend of mine who ranches in western New Mexico recently said that in her experience, a monsoon that starts early is usually a disappointment in the long run. She says that later starts produce more rain.

Very unscientific, I know. I wonder if it's true.
