Northern lights in AZ
On Sunday night about 9pm my husband and I observed the Aurora from Payson. He even took some pictures of them. There could be some more in the next week....

if you can read Yahoo's story about Dust storm in our solar system. It should increase our shooting stars viewing. I think it also affects the atomosphere worldwide.

In response to olesma's reply: One place to look for information on the auroras is on http://www.spaceweather.com. They post all kinds of stuff on the spaceweather....

Re: re:
In response to plummer150's reply: In the past 13 years that we have lived in Payson we have seen about 6 or 7 displays of auroras. They are most active during the peak of the sunspot cycle when the solar winds are the most active. We are heading out of the peak which is in a cycle of 11 years. One of the best ones was a few years ago and we were able to see the greens and blues here in AZ too. And see the curtain effects that they see up in the higher latitudes....

THey hit AZ again!? I have heard that Arizona can only see them about once every 10 years. it was about 2 years ago I was on Mars Hill in Flagstaff and i saw them. Right around midnight they were doing some very spatacular things. It was simply amazing. About half the sky was deep red.
Mountains are there to be hiked!
