The Desert Foothills Land Trust has closed escrow on the purchase of over 30 acres adjacent to the Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area. This was open space land that homes could have been built on. The two private parcels that seperate Spur Cross from the Jewel of the Creel Preserve are still for sale. The stumbling block on those purchases is that the owners are asking over the appraised valuation. Hopefully these two parcels can be purchased in the near future to enlarge the riparian area at The Jewel of the Creek.
