Re: Can you save one species by annoying another?
That's a nice story. I was just in Homer AK where I observed the big crows (I first thought they were ravens) had control of the shore area - seagulls stayed mainly in the water. I found that interesting because last year at a beach in England I watched crows have there lunch eaten (literally) by big seagulls swooping in. One thing for sure: too many ravens in Barstow.

@Alston_Neal The video mentions the root cause of the problem about 17 times, but focuses on solutions that don't address it. "Laying bricks" is great, but when the foundation is eroding exponentially more every year, getting a small part of wall built isn't much reason to celebrate.
But I'm happy to see a few more tortoises around I guess. They're cool.

I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

Re: Can you save one species by annoying another?
Their efforts towards combating extinction of endangered species seems a worthwhile cause, but I have my doubts that the plastic replica tortoise army they plan to build will prove effective as a distraction to the Ravens will just end up as desert litter/trash. I always thought that predators hunt by observing movement more so than by just seeing a tortoise's lifelike shell.
