I've been searching for a book by Ted Tenney, Goldfield Mountain Hikes. It's been out of print for awhile and there doesn't seem to be any copies floating around. Amazon may have some copies but they want $124. The museum on hwy 88 doesn't have any or know of any for sale.
I thought I'd tracked one down on one of the online book resellers websites but I got a "rejected sale" email this morning. Apparently it wasn't for sale or had sold and the ad wasn't taken down. Does anyone possibly have one they no longer want or know of any sources in the Phoenix area that might have one or be worth contacting?

@trekkin_gecko
I've exhausted all the options listed and came up empty. Even got an email response from Mr. Tenney and he doesn't have any available. And no, I'm not spending $124 from Amazon, if they even have it. We don't want it that bad. I'll keep searching and I will take any leads I can get.

Perhaps your HAZ profile is out of date, but it says you're from Apache Junction, which makes me think the AJ library would be a fairly convenient location to you.
FWIW, it is also listed as owned by the Chandler Public Library, Mesa Public Library, Phoenix Public Library, Prescott Public Library, and the UC Berkeley Library. (Whether any of them actively possess it is unclear, but they each purchased it for their collections).

@chumley
profile is up to date. I stopped by the library in AJ this morning. They have a copy, I saw it with my own 2 eyes. So it does exist, lol. Surprising that it was locked up in a glass case. Must be more elusive than the Lost Dutchman mine. Having to check it out is not ideal but will work until I can locate a copy.

Re: Looking for a book on the Goldfields
@herdbull At Staples or OfficeMax, self-serve copies are about 20¢. 168 pages, 2/sheet, under $17 and a half hour of your time. Most places will not make the copies for you as it's a gray area in copyright law, but you are permitted to make a copy yourself, for your own use. AJ Library charges 10¢ on their copier, where you could copy the whole thing for under $10. Buy a notebook to put it all together, or have Staples put a spiral binding on the whole thing for you. College students do this with textbooks all the time.

I like your thinking. I actually went down that road with "self", but "self" won out and I discouraged "me" from doing just that.

Re: Looking for a book on the Goldfields
Great news. After searching everywhere for the last month or so I finally found a copy come for sale on Thrift books. It says it has shipped so I believe I will have a copy within a few days. Unless it ends up in a USPS truck, uoside down on the side of the road somewhere with stuff flying around all over. I that happens I will be on the ditch clean up crew!
