Hi Im considering doing the AZT section from Mt Peeley north
to Hopi spring. I see Payson weather will be in the mid 80's in the days planned. My question is will the temps on this section be about the same as in Payson ? If yes it may be too hot and I'll go to the Pine area instead, thanks ! - Rob

Re: Mazatzal temps
My experience is that it's usually 3-5 degrees cooler than Payson, give or take, in that area.

@robxxx
You can use the HAZ "point forecast" to check temps along your planned route.
For example, at the Peely TH area, forecast highs through memorial day are 69 - 75
Also... fyi
Pine TH is closed through mid-June
[ Pine Trailhead (Just South of Pine) ]

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

@The_Eagle @xsproutx
Thank y'all ! I was thinking of doing the "Blue Ridge" section further north but 69-75 deg seems quite nice so Ill stick with
Peely. Last time I was there about 12 yrs ago I remember crawling over burned trees and the "trail" was marked by orange tape ! Getting to bear spring was a relief !

Well you won’t have to worry about that this time at least; that section is a regular cruisy highway now!
