I'm picking up family who are arriving in Reno. Any suggestion for a place along the route home to Nevada City to give them an experience of granite scrambling in an open expanse? Not looking for a hike, more seeking a place to roam and explore that is easy to access (we'll have folks of varying ages and abilities)..
Many thanks!

@drewdavis
I assume you're driving I-80 between Reno and NC - taking Donner Pass Rd (aka Old Hwy 40) between Truckee and Soda Springs is quite scenic, historic, touristy, and should have some pullouts for "granite scrambling".
