There are no trails of use, but there are some game trails back there. Odds are you'll end up bushwacking, but hey, thats half the fun anyway right?

If your interested in company on this hike let me know. That is one trip I have been planning on attempting for some time.

I'd love to, but my hiking calender is full until the end of september, at least. I'm getting married in mid october so I have to dedicate some of the upcomming weekends to planning and arrangements.
I'll let you know when I'm free again, of course if you have the opportunity and the inclination to go, don't wait for me.

Yeah, keep me posted I'm always interested in that stuff. One way or another I'll do that hike eventually.

Well I went today to check it out! a nice hike out towards massacre falls then cutting over to the east side of the valley and hugging the bottom of the slope.Should have worn long sleeves! saw no cairns! Saw no trail of any kind! Got to Old West Boulder canyon then followed creek bed (Saw a number of three foot deep pools along the way)to west Boulder canyon then down to first water trail and F.W.T.H. but my truck was at massacre grounds trail head! Fortunately i got a ride most of the way from a couple of nice guys who had just come off the Second Water trail.
It was a great hike I saw countless lizards, two snakes(one in the water and my first blacktail rattler),tadpoles and tiny frogs. NICE!
