Hi everyone!
My name's Ype (he/him) from the Netherlands. I'm planning on thru-hiking the AZT the start of March; I'll arrive in the US February 24, but probably visit some old friends first. I've lived in Tucson as a kid and loved hiking in the Catalinas, Mount Lemon and of course the Grand Canyon. So, hiking the AZT will sorta be a sentimental journey for me. Also, it will be the first time I walk six to eight months straight. I've hiked Hadrian's Wall in the UK, but that was a piece of cake compared to this.
I was wondering if there's someone who's doing the hike (or sections) around the same time. It would be nice if I could carpool with someone to get to the head of the trail and perhaps even do the hike with. I'm not planning on rushing the trail, but to take it slow and enjoy every step.
Let me know what you's think!
Any tips for the trip are welcome too!
