Backyard Birds

Post by RedRoxx44 »

Despite being a dry spring, my yard area has been quite productive

1. Hummingbird built a nest right outside my window at eye level. I got to see her "poop" her two tiny eggs out; all the way to the young overflowing the nest and finally taking off.

2. Hooded orioles on the third nest. First nest was successful and I witnessed both fledge. The second nest not sure, and now a third nest has almost finished construction.

3. Currently about 13 tiny quail with mom and pop in the backyard. I'll be going out the front for the next week or so till they get big enough they will move them. Right now they have protection, water and some shade so I will just have to drink my coffee inside in the morning.
