Repurpose AquaMira to deoderize your clothes

Post by TooOld2Hike_EP »

Chlorine Dioxide (which is what AquaMira produces) is used not only to disinfect water. It is also used, among other things, as a deodorizer, often used to deodorize rooms. But it will also deodorize clothing.

The only caveat is that you can't use it (or shouldn't use it) if your clothing has metal in it (a clasp, snaps, zippers) because ClO2 is "highly reactive" with metal.

(Although it might not damage anything in small doses during short times.)

AquaMira says to use 5 drops of each Part for a liter of water for drinking. I'm thinking that 1 drop of each added to water in a small plastic bucket is enough for deodorizing a shirt, socks.
Be careful. It really is "a jungle out there."
