Free Fish

Post by Daryl »

I have a really big fish that I want to give away. He is free to a good home. He is a South American Cichlid called a Manguense. He is distantly related to a pirahna, but much more aggressive. He is very similar to an Oscar.
He is about 12" long and about 4 years old right now and in a tank that is way to small for him. He can get to 24" long in a big enough tank. He'd need to be in at least a 55 gallon tank right now. He is very aggressive and will kill or eat anything you put in the tank with him unless it's another South American Cichlid about the same size.
He'll make a great fish for a show tank at a resturant or business, or for your home. If you wanted to buy a fish like this in the store you'd pay $50-100 if you could find one.

These pictures are very similar to mine, but this is not mine:

oh man-
that's pretty nice of you to give that fish away. Good luck Daryl.

I wonder how many other people opened this thread up thinking you were giving away some trout fillets or something like that. That's what I was thinking.

Your fish kinda looks like a bass.............(best homer voice) mmmmmmmmm ....B-A-S-SSSSSSSS!

Please could you tell me what you've been feeding it, live fish, or pellets or flakes?

Didn't mean too fool anyone, but I suppose you could eat him.

He is normally fed pellets (Cichlid Gold as long as we've had it). A couple times a year I'll give him some gold fish to chase around. The wife doesn't like it when I feed him live food.
