Naturist/nudist hiking
What are your views on naturists/nudists? Has anyone come upon a naked hiker/camper and what was the outcome ?

pfredricks,
Now it occurs to me that Monte doesn't get it either. I am loosing my touch. I better leave the one liners to Henney Youngman.
And I never use the "L" word unless I'm in the privacy of my own home. Then I kick back, take off my clothes, and murmur it to a photo of Robert Byrd.

No, don't do that! For one thing your one-liners are better than his. You're one of the sharp tools in the shed - don't even worry about people not getting the joke! The rest of us do. I'm going to remember the "fine" line for future use (at which time I will claim all the credit for being clever).Snick33 wrote: I am loosing my touch. "Fine for nude bathing" - hehehe!

take my hike, PLEASE!
I will now roll out the new abbreviation
MTP for "missed the point" which may be used for the frequent replies to snick posts.
It happened to me a few weeks ago, when someone thought my Freudian analogy of knife owners was a serious critique and got a little bent.
As far as Monte- I dont really get the gyst of that one either.
Oh ya- this is forum is about nude hiking

Re: out there
There are a HUGE number of REALLY weird and strange people out there.
To the 40 people who voted "yes," we suggest you "get a life" and some clothes.
J&S[/quote]
Although I agree there's plenty of weird and strange people out there.I worry about them less than I do about people who would try to control my personal freedom! Not that I would ever hike nude(i don't have a body for that!)But I would'nt deny someone elses desire to hike nude.(I would hope the naturist would have the body for it.)
I would also like to mention that I would'nt even consider getting another life! this one's going great! But I could use some more socks! So I will consider getting some clothes.

Monte,
You have included simply being nude in with drunkeness, public urination, and lewed behavior. That is a tremdous leap of faith, and reminds me of the probation hearing in "Animal House." It's as if your agrument of nudity isn't strong enough so you have thrown in a few red herrings to stiffin it up a bit. I've run across many people urinating in the wilderness and a few that were drunk; most of them were wearing clothes. It's like hearing about a bad accident on I 17 where they identify one of the vehicles as a SUV, what does that have to do with anything?
Just because someone is nude, or wearing clothes you preceive as being different doesn't mean they want you to look at them by the way. I dress, or undress for me.

I think that the glass is half full, Monte.
Bare with me on this. The naked truth is that most people responding are doing so out of their own value system. I think if you strip this down to the bare essentials we can clearly expose this fact. Even in this cold environment, I am not going to shrink away from this discussion.
Nobody here wants their rights infringed upon. One need not be a civil rights buff to understand this. I think the bottom line is respectfulness. If one wants to be nude-fine. Please be discreet, because the stark fact is, some don't want to see that. Most importantly, that keeps the offended party from having any footing from having their morality legislated-which always makes me shudder. Anyone behind me on this?
