This story below is about 6 months old but with all the discussions about survival that have ensued since the "Four Peaks Mother Lode" trip I wanted to pass it along. If you're contemplating a trip where you're DEAD SERIOUS about survival take a look at

If you want a smaller form factor, there are also wrist watches which contain EPIRBS using the 121.5 mhz emergency frequency which can now be purchased and used in the US.
