Try "A" mountain, and Papago Park.

Busses go near South Mtn. Park (SW of Tempe) - you can hike in there all day and not see the half of it........

See descriptions of Mormon Loop, Hidden Valley, etc. Or search by South Mountain...

Go K State !

Lots of hikes actually, especially if you have a bike.

I live right by ASU, aslo within walking distance. There is A mountain, papago park (which probably has 10-15 different hikes), camelback mountain or south mountain (those are the ones you need bikes for).

If you need any other info you can PM me if you would like.

Explore A Mountain as well. When I lived in Tempe I would take note and inventory the plants, trees and petroglyphs. Sometimes I would spend the night on A Mtn. Great Suggestion on taking the bus to South Mtn.

In response to hikeaz's reply:

Thanks very much. And yes, go K-State. That's exactly why we're here. Acutally just rented a bike at Tempe Bicycle as they closed today. So will be biking instead and will try South Mountain and Papago Park, too. JP
