If the frequency of lion reports continues to increase, my wife will ban me from solo hiking. She's afraid that lions have caught onto the fact that people are slow and defenseless. I claim that while my hooves are not very sharp, my trekking poles make good horns. However, she points out that they won't help much when I get jumped from behind, which seems to the preferred method of attack.
