Here I go again- one of my favorite hikes. It's about 6 miles RT- written up in the "hiking ruins seldon seen" book to a large Indian ruin in the Sierra Anchas. The hike features a bit of elevation gain, is a bushwack, hopefully the little waterfall will be running, and is on a hiker made trail which meanders in dense forest, across some rock and slides down loose stuff near the edge of a few drop offs.
Bring your high clearance vehicle to the McDonalds Parking lot on the east side of Globe between 6:00 and 6:30. We'll have to backtrack and go up toward Roosevelt lake then head toward Young and then on Cherry Creek Road. Its a a long drive with several creek crossings on a rough road. Make sure you have a spare tire and your vehicle is in good working order. Plan on all day due to the driving.
Those who want to go either show up or send me a PM.
Pueblo Canyon- again- Sun Feb 8th

aww man- I was planning on doing this one along with Devil's chasm and Copper Forks canyon (also in ruins seldom seen) on an extended weekend at the beginning of March, but this is tempting.
we were going to 4 wheel to the Coke Ovens this weekend, so we'll be in the area.
I'll let ya know shortly- Thanks for the invite!

My goal is this Sunday but I am flexible if some people would like the following weekend and if there is snow in the Anchas ***** deep. I don't mind some snow trekking but if the road is really wet could be interesting just driving in. Its a great hike- the ruins could be pretty if snow rimmed!
I will firm it up closer to this weekend- esp if weather is really bad, will go to next weekend.

Hey Redroxx- let me know how it went.
Also, I have a few questions. How were the waterfalls that it describes in the book? It also says a bit of rock climbing. Is this a hike my yellow lab should not do?
Have you been to the other 2 cliff dwellings in the immediate area? Coppers and Devils Chasm
We're going to try and do all 3 on a long weekend / camping at the beginning of March and I'm trying to plan it.
Thanks for you help- MUCH appreciated!

In response to xrock's reply:
Xrock, I sure like your optimism, and I'd like to join your group to view the Cliff Dwellings in Devil's Chasm, Pueblo Canyon, or cold springs Canyon.
I went to Devil's Canyon last wekend 6/12/05) but made a mistake on the directions, after the second waterfall , and did not find the ruin.
What's chances of returning this fall?
regards, Great White Hunter.
