Compliment for HikeArizona.com on Superstition SAR site

Post by Al_HikesAZ »

Just found this today

Superstition Search & Rescue in their page on Pinal County trails links to HikeArizona.com. http://superstition-sar.org/trails.htm They probably figure that good trail information makes their job easier.

I found this one by accident and I find it curious that this one didn’t show up when I used google to find pages that link to HikeArizona.com

For anyone interested, Superstition SAR also lists their 2005 missions. I hope that none of us is on the list

Great link! They have topo maps for download too!

Good to see this site mentioned there as a link. :D

Yeah Good Link!

If you look at the 2004 SAR Mission Log on Jan 11th, that was the guy we heard screaming for help and Brad and I went and found and called SAR. Long night for that guy.

He had injured his back in a fall and could stand but not walk out. Ended up getting chopper ride out in the morning.

I found this one a few years ago and occassionally check for updates on the missions. I wish the other SAR sites had such good information. The percentage of incidents listing improper footwear is pretty surprising.

Peralta and Lost Dutchman look like pretty dangerous places.

It's amazing the number of people they pull off the Flatiron.

Okay, maybe its not so amazing...I should rephrase

Its amazing how many people head up there unprepared, wearing tennis shoes and carrying one 500ml bottle of water and a cliff bar. And then have to be pulled off.

:?
A true outdoorsman, when treed by a bear, sits back and enjoys the view.

Lost? Hell, I ain't never been lost. But I have been a mite confused for a week or two.

Those are the same people that laugh at those who carry silly things like map and compass, extra water, and funniest of all, trekking poles.
