shin dagger's?

has anyone ever heard of shin dagger's? they are a cactus plant that if you step to close to them they dig into youre shin's (AND THEY GET ANOYING) does anyone know the real name for them?

Others go by that common name, but Schott's is the one I'll always remember. My attention was distracted for just a second. OUCH. After backing away, I saw that my pants were unscathed, and the tip that poked me was completely intact, so I kept going. A minute later I looked down to see my entire lower pants leg saturated with blood. I lifted my pants and saw the blood pumping out a nice, neat hole in my shin. Fortunately, 30 seconds of firm pressure was enough to stop it.

But I hate catclaw :twisted: . It may not be a shin dagger but it definitely is a shin aggravator..

Yep, it's the only plant I've found so far that did real damage to those pants, not to mention the skin underneath. And it grows so dense across the trail.

Thank's to all who replied. i was dear hunting in the whetstone mnt's S.E. of Tucson. they grew in thick patches,had to walk throught them at times. I to ended up with a blood soaked pant leg. :?
