Growing old, it's not for sissy's

Post by Snick33 »

It has been two months now since I injured my back. I managed to pinch my sciatic nerve during a flu induced fit of coughing. Having played football in high school and rugby in college, I'm conditioned to believe that all such injuries are best treated by exercise and Black Berry Brandy. I've gotten conflicting advice from different doctors. MD's think I should lay flat on my back until it passes, DO's think excercise is the answer, and Chiropractors think I should leave my wallet and check book with them until I run out of money and only then will I be cured.

Has anyone out there had a similar back problem and can you advise me as to what eventually happened? Is this going to be a re-occuring situation? Will I ever hike again? and will I be able to play the violin after this is over?

You Could lie on a big candle  (oooo nooooo!!).It is called a Back Roller. They are sold at Pt offices, the other place was called the Training Room-it sells all the stuff that you'd find at a physical therapist' office. It was on Shea where Dunn-Edwards+Sieinmart is.(Is that Frank Lloyd Wright or Pima??)they cost about $30.You lay on it fromyour c/5 to your l/5+kind of roll on it.you can also use it on your quads, itb's,butt, it kind of re-aligns your spine somehow.I got mine at Sheilas'office (Metro PTon 95thway off of Via Linda, where the Scotts. PD is. I learned of her skill thru a friend who teaches PT assisting @ Gateway CC.(Her supervisor said that Sheila was the most knowledgeable person in the field, bar none(SOOO right on!) She is on most ins.plans, but will also take call ins. Ah yes SOOOOOMA!! There are no words-Rubber woman! Sometimes I lay on that thing+just kinda balance on it+could go to sleep! All I know is it helps me+she fixes me when no meds or md's or surgery could! :D

I don't believe that. How many of your friends have you neutered?"
